Affirming for All

Our Commitment

It would be very easy to state that we are a Neuroaffirming and safe practice. However we strongly believe that affirming practice requires commitment, hard work, and constantly challenging normative paradigms to create a true sense of safety for neurodivergent communities and the intersectional identities and experiences of many.

To be transparent, and accountable to our clients and wider community, we have produced statements of how we commit to Neuroaffirming practice, our commitment to decolonisation of mental health, and how we commit to support LGBTQIASB+ communities.

The Burrows logo in white.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land and waterways where The Burrows is located, where we work and live, the Woiwurung and Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nations, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land. We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded, and support the work to decolonise psychology, mental health and assessment services.
